Little pops of red woven throughout our Sunday.
Happy June!
Yesterday was a relaxing one with time in between for hanging laundry on the line, making a big batch of granola for the week and arranging little bouquets from the garden to scatter about the house.
my empty palette of a sunday turned into a wonderfully cozy day.
my grandparents stopped by just in time for a pot of curried chicken vegetable soup for lunch.
we sat by the fire.
we talked and laughed while i wound balls of yarn to turn into christmas presents.
not a day goes by that i don’t appreciate still having them both in my life. in my girl’s life.
hannah and norah are at ages now where they will most likely remember them when they are older.
my grandfather (pop) is the master carpenter who crafted the inside of my house. all of the built-ins, my kitchen, my bed.
there is a huge piece of him in every room of my home.
a big reason why i can never leave this place.
sunday started with a brisk morning walk.
then for the second time this weekend we went here. this time to celebrate my sister’s birthday. i got the falafel.
and while we were there i received a surprise belated birthday gift. my dream dining room chairs! yes i am in love.
i arrived home to a sewing party. since hannah got a sewing machine for christmas we now can have two machines going at once.
and the super bowl party last night gave me a good excuse to finish my stripey cowl along with a few glasses of red wine.
a few highlights from my sunday…
dutch baby for breakfast
making meals for two families with new little ones.
meeting my second cousin for the very first time.
having memories of having my own little ones flood over me.
playing games by the fire.
working as a family to get things done around the house.
meatloaf for dinner.
cracking nuts and eating chocolate after dinner.
how was your sunday?
