Hibernating
As you can tell I have been hibernating these days.
I have been feeling quiet but our days have been abundant and full of all of the wonderful activities and traditions that bring summer to a close and welcome the beginning of autumn.
Another year at the lake
We had another blissful get away to the lake this summer.
The perfect reprieve from the hot and sticky week we had back home.
The weather was glorious and although it is so very hard to leave we all feel rested and renewed.

Sunday
Christmas was put away on Sunday morning. We then headed to the Bandywine River Museum for the afternoon and ended the day with a Downton Abbey hot chocolate party. Did you watch?
A trip to the market
We ventured out yesterday and took the train downtown to Reading Terminal. We grabbed some lunch and bought the ingredients for some dinner with friends that night.
Just the two of us
It had been almost 13 years since Chris and I have had a little getaway together just the two of us. That was until last weekend when we headed down to the shore room.
As much as we love being together as a family of four it was so lovely to be alone for a few days. We didn’t do much out of the ordinary than what we usually do down at the point. Although while out and about on our bikes we did stumble upon a new vineyard and Chris convinced me into an afternoon tasting smack in the middle of the day. I love totally unplanned adventures.
I think we must have said to ourselves at least 10 times throughout the weekend “and why don’t we do this more often?”
We already have a getaway planned for the fall.
